What it does
The Submittal Review page provides a detailed view of all submittals in your project, organized by CSI section. It has a two-panel layout: a submittal list on the left and a detail view on the right.
Left panel — Submittal List
- Submittals are grouped by CSI section (e.g., Division 26 - Electrical). Click a section header to expand or collapse it.
- Each submittal card shows a thumbnail preview, name, date, and author.
- An amber alert icon appears if a submittal PDF has not been generated yet.
- Use the search bar to filter submittals by name or author.
- Click a submittal to select it and view its details in the right panel. Double-click to open the full Submittal Editor.
Right panel — Submittal Details
When a submittal is selected, the right panel shows four tabs:
- Overview — read-only metadata: submittal number, status, trade, CSI section, description, manufacturer, and contractor information.
- Products — a grid of all products included in the submittal, each with a thumbnail, name, manufacturer, and model badge. Click a product to open it in the Submittal Editor.
- Versions — version history for the submittal (currently shows Version 1 with future version support planned).
- Markups — annotations extracted from the submittal PDF (see "Extract Annotations" for details).
Header actions
- Compare to Spec — compare submittal products against a specification document.
- Create Template — configure the submittal PDF template (cover page, transmittal, product table).
- Generate Report / View Report — create or view an AI-generated compliance report.
- Download — download the submittal PDF.
- Edit — navigate to the Submittals page to edit this submittal's metadata.
