Three things people mix up
- Library — your company's saved products. Works across all projects. Holds the real data: manufacturer, part numbers, cut sheet, price. Build it once, reuse it everywhere.
- Project products (the Products page) — the products on ONE job. Every product on the Products page belongs to the active project. This is why that page asks you to select a project first.
- Groups — labels inside a project. They hold no data. A product can have many groups. Use them to organize a job (by floor, by spec section).
Where should I put my data?
Put your master catalog in the Library. Do not create a project just to hold products — the Library is made for that. Use the Library's own tags and categories to organize by manufacturer.
Then, for each job: create the project and add the Library items you need. Use groups on that project if you want extra organization.
What does the AI use when building a submittal?
- Products already in the project come first.
- Your Library — matching items show a "My Library" badge and rank above catalog and web results. You can also say "use my library" in chat.
- Our product catalog and manufacturer websites fill any gaps.
Quick answers
- "Do I need a separate project or library per manufacturer?" — No. One Library. Tag items by manufacturer.
- "Should I add data in the Library or in groups?" — The Library. Groups are only labels.
- "Will the AI see my Library?" — Yes, in chat and in schedule builds.
