This article shows how to make a quote by asking the Submittal Builder.
What it does
The Builder turns your products into a quote. Each product becomes one line. It uses the products in the open submittal. If no submittal is open, it uses the products in your project.
How to do it
- Open Submittal Builder from the sidebar.
- Make sure you are in the right project. The Builder asks if it is not sure.
- Type: "Create a quote for this project."
- Press Enter to send.
- The Builder shows a preview with the lines and quantities. Check it.
- Click Confirm to make the quote. Nothing is saved before you confirm.
- Click the Open Quote link in the chat. The quote opens in Procurement in a new tab.
Prices
- Give prices in your message, and the Builder puts them on the lines.
- If you don't give prices, the lines start at $0. Fill them in on the quote later.
- You can add a markup, freight, or tax. For example: "Make a quote with a 15% markup."
- If your supplier quote has one total price for everything, the Builder can use that as one lot price.
Add more later
Already made a quote? Ask the Builder to add more. For example: "Add the controls to the quote." Products already on the quote are skipped.
After it is made
Open the quote in Procurement. There you can change lines and prices, make a PDF, and send it.
Common questions
Why are my prices $0? The Builder only adds prices you give it. Tell it the prices, or type them on the quote.
Can I quote only some products? Yes. Name them in your message, like "Add L1 and L2 to the quote."
Where is my quote? Click the Open Quote link in the chat. Or go to Procurement and open the Quotes tab.
