This article lists the jobs you can ask the Submittal Builder to do in chat.
How to use it
You don't need to learn any tool names. Just say what you want in plain words. The Builder picks the right tool. If it needs more info, it asks you or shows a quick picker.
Big steps, like making a quote or a purchase order, show you a preview first. Nothing is saved until you click Confirm.
Projects and products
- Make a new project, or pick one you already have.
- Search the catalog, your Library, and the web for products and cut sheets.
- Read products from a spec, a fixture schedule, a supplier quote, or a drawing you upload.
- Fill in or fix part numbers for you. For example: "Configure the part number for S1, 4000K, black finish."
Build and edit the submittal
- Build the submittal and find a cut sheet for each product.
- Add, swap, or remove a product.
- Choose which cut sheet pages to print.
- Highlight the part number on each cut sheet.
- Sort the products or put them in a new order.
- Rename the submittal.
- Fill in the transmittal.
- Make a review link to share.

Drawings and specs
- Read a drawing and list the products on it.
- Check the submittal against the spec and list what does not match. You must make the PDF first.
- Check products against a schedule on a drawing, like an air flow or a fixture count table.
Review comments
- Read a marked-up submittal and pull out each reviewer comment.
- Help you answer the comments and make a new version.
- Add a comment summary page to the package.
Quotes and purchase orders
- Make a quote from the products. See Create a Quote with AI.
- Make a purchase order. See Create a Purchase Order with AI.
- Add more products to a quote or purchase order you already made.
- Update items in the Procurement Log.
Common questions
How do I see everything it can do? Ask it: "What can you help me with?"
Will it change things without asking? For a quote or a purchase order, no. It shows a preview and waits for you to click Confirm. Removing a product by hand also asks you first.
It picked the wrong product. What do I do? Tell it in chat, like "Swap L1 for a 4-inch downlight." Or open the product and click Swap cut sheet.
