Share a submittal so an architect, engineer, or contractor can look at it and leave comments.
Share from the Submittals page
- Go to the Submittals page.
- Click the share icon on a row. Or click Share above the table and pick the submittal from the list.
- The Share Submittal window opens. Pick one of three ways:
- Copy review link — click Copy link. The app copies a secure link. Paste it into any email or chat.
- Send review email — type one or more email addresses. Use a comma between them. Click Send. The email has the submittal PDF.
- Draft in Outlook — click Open draft. The app makes an Outlook draft with the PDF link. You check it and send it.
- Click Close when you are done.
Pick who can do what (Submittal Builder)
For more control, share from the Submittal Builder:
- Open the submittal in the Submittal Builder.
- Click Share.
- In Share for review, pick an Access level:
- View only — they can look but not comment.
- Can comment — they can add comments and markups.
- Can comment & export — they can also download the full PDF.
- Click Create link. The link is copied for you.
Your links show under Active links. Each one shows its access level and when it expires. Click the copy icon to copy it again. Click the trash icon to revoke it. Anyone using a revoked link loses access right away.
What the reviewer sees
- The link opens a review page. They do not need an account.
- They see each product in the package. They click a product to open its sheet.
- Before they comment, they type their name. Title and email are optional.
- They can add notes, shapes, and review stamps.
- If their link allows it, they can click View full submittal or Reprint to get a PDF with their markups.

Common questions
How long does a link work?
A new link works for 5 days. The Active links list shows the end date.
Why can't I send the email?
The submittal needs a PDF first. You see "PDF must be generated before sending email" until it has one.
Why did Outlook not open?
Connect your Microsoft account first. See "Connect Microsoft."
What does Copy link on the Submittals page allow?
It lets the reviewer view, comment, and download the PDF. To limit that, make the link in the Submittal Builder instead.
